Turkey Trot '12
Happy Thanksgiving!! This morning Cole and Daddy headed up to the the annual Burbank Community YMCA Turkey Trot. Daddy ran many races with Cole's Pop Pop when he was a kid and thought this might be a fun tradition to start. With Daddy out of shape and this being Cole's first run we bypassed the 10K and 5K and decided to participate in the 1K fun run.
It was fun and it was 1K which means that it was done in about 4 or 5 minutes but the main thing was that it was FUN. Next year Daddy's goal is to participate in the 5K and Cole is interested in possibly training and doing that too. If not, Cole has one more year of eligibility in the 1K run (7 and under).
Good way to start a day of eating...

Lost Tooth
The day we have been eagerly awaiting has arrived. After seeing friends show up to school and soccer practice with gaps in their smiles or holes in their head, Cole has finally joined the ranks of having a special space for his straw. About 3 weeks ago, Cole discovered he had a "wiggly tooth". After keeping an eye on it for a while and checking to make sure it hadn't made an illusive escape it finally flew the coop yesterday.
Cole and Momma were on a school field trip when Cole realized that his tooth was gone. It hadn't only fallen out... it was GONE. After playing and exploring outside for some time it was gone and a quick search of the grounds came back empty handed. Questions tied to how to deal with the tooth fairy arose and a strategy put in place.
Below are some pics surrounding how the plan was executed.

Halloween Time '12
Halloween Time!
The month of October has been jam packed with Halloween Time activities. Be it harvest / fall festivals at the boys schools or trips to the pumpkin patch or gathering with friends to carve those pumpkins to the big finale of trick or treating in the neighborhood.
Cole made his momma happy with his choice of Harry Potter (the resemblance was pretty strong) and Casey was very proud to show off his Elephant trunk. Both of the boys had a blast trick or treating this year. While we were unsure how Casey would take to it, he figured it out pretty quickly and really enjoyed collecting his bounty of candy.
Below is a video review of the entire month's activities.
Much more to come to the new http://www.coleandcasey.com/
