Casey and the Big Boy Bed
We are still a bit behind in our posts but doing our best to try to catch up.
At the beginning of September our Casey reached another milestone... he got a big boy bed! Mom and Dad put it off for a bit as Casey isn’t one to easily fall fast asleep as his head hits the pillow. With this knowledge, visions of lots of night time visits couldn’t be avoided and hence, Casey stayed in his crib as long as possible. However, we started to find him with a leg thrown over the rail in an attempt to escape so it could be put off no longer. So, Mom and Dad braced for nights of no sleep.
We talked to Casey about it before his bed arrived and told him he was to stay in his bed and we would come get him when he woke up in the mornings. The first night was a success! We couldn’t believe it. He slept great and called for us when he woke up. Surely it was an anomaly. The next night was just as amazing. We didn’t even do a post on the blog because we were certain there would be a story to be told as the nights went on.
Well, there was... Casey has been incredible EVERY night since it arrived. He simply hasn’t gotten out of his bed at night. Casey, our independent thinker, our "I do it myself!" kid, has taken to his big boy bed as a true big boy would. Had we known, we wouldn’t have put it off. That’ll teach us.
We are so proud of both our boys!
Here are some pictures of the big boy and his new bed:
and finally... a quick trip back in time in the Way Back Machine shows us Cole when he got his big boy bed.

Casey Haircut
We have been remiss in updating the boys site as of late. Sorry for the delay. Life and second child syndrome* have taken over.
We are going back in time a short bit for the latest post. It was documented but we never got around to posting anything.... so here it goes.
Casey, like his brother years ago, is not a fan of haircuts. That combined with the fact that they both looked great with long hair lead to long stretches between haircuts. As time went on we would trim Casey's bangs but the back and sides just kept growing. Finally the day came to remedy the problem, at least for a short time.
We decided to mix it up and try to kids focused hair cut salon here in LA that allowed the kids to play and get comfortable and most importantly become distracted while going through the process of getting the actual haircut. And... it worked. Casey had his haircut with very little fuss and the results made everyone happy.
Below are some pics from the grand event.

Success!!
And enjoying the rewards of his adventure - a lollipop.
*Second child syndrome - where you don't document half as much of the second child's wonderful life as you did the first. Sad but true. Doesn't mean we don't love Casey just as much... just more tired to photograph and post :)
