USS Iowa
Over the past year, Cole has sparked an interest in the military (as most boys his age do). He is very proud (and excited) that his Pop Pop spent his career in the Army and is always interested in seeing Army trucks and other military vehicles. So last weekend, was a bit of a treat for Cole when he and Momma were able to go down and visit the USS Iowa which has found a new home in San Pedro.
Cole was able to explore what is considered to be "World's Greatest Naval Ship" and get to know what it may be like to have been a Navy sailor.
Here is a photo slide show of their visit.

San Diego Getaway
"Building" memories in San Diego
While this post is a bit late, we did want to note our quick getaway to San Diego at the end of July. A nice 4 day vacation down to our home away from home was a much needed break from the hectic world of LA.
We stayed at La Costa for the first time and discovered that it is the type of place you can go and enjoy some relaxation and fun without even leaving the grounds. The only trip away from the resort was to hit Legoland which Cole LOVED and where he was able to add to his massive collection of Star Wars legos. Casey had fun as well but seemed a bit overwhelmed.
Both boys had a blast at the resort and spent countless hours at the pool and in the game room and were even able to partake in some S'mores on evening. A great time was had by all. We hope to go back soon.
Below is a look at our fantastic time away.
