8 Months Old
8 Months Old and making great strides
Cole is 8 months old today and what a month it has been. After starting the month with a double ear infection and chapped face Cole figured he could only have better days from there. With the ear infection in the rear view and the face having it's good days and bad, Cole concentrated on getting back to checking things off his "growing up accomplishments" checklist.
As mentioned last month, Cole was beginning to push himself up with his arms but not quite getting the tail end to lift off the ground. Well, that didn't last long. Shortly after the 7th month post Cole was up on all fours and rocking back and forth... we figured crawling was the next logical step. Cole proved us wrong by leaning back on his hounch's and popping down on his backside. On Feb 8th, Cole sat by himself for the first time while at school. Rumor has it that it took him a while to figure what to do with his legs but after the 2nd time he had mastered it. Mom and Pop couldn't be happier. For the next 12 days Cole would roll, push up to all fours and then pop down into a sitting position. Good times... but Cole wasn't finished...
The morning on Feb 20 while waiting for his folks to get ready for work, Cole rolled over to check up on them, popped up on all fours and proceeded to start crawling. Apparently he had been getting some tips from the kids at his school because right out of the gate he was a natural (video coming soon). So now we have a very mobile child and the days of just putting him down and expecting him to stay in one place are long gone.
Cole spent the day with Mom and Dad in his new wagon that his Oma gave him for Christmas. Here are a few shots.
Here's to an exciting month of baby proofing the house!!!
As always... here is the updated look back at 8 months
